Online medical weight loss evaluation in California
BridgeWell coordinates online medical weight-loss evaluations for California residents through licensed clinicians at our independent clinical partner. California has among the strongest telehealth and consumer-protection rules in the country. Eligibility for prescription weight-management treatment is determined by a clinician licensed to practice medicine in California.
BridgeWell does not prescribe medications and does not guarantee that any treatment will be prescribed. Eligibility for treatment is determined individually by a licensed clinician at our independent clinical partner. This page is for education and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

How California residents start
You complete BridgeWell's online eligibility check — a structured intake covering health history, current medications, BMI, and goals. Roughly 15 minutes from your computer or phone.
A licensed clinician at our independent clinical partner — licensed to practice medicine in California — reviews your information and decides whether medically supervised weight-management treatment is clinically appropriate for you specifically.
What the clinician evaluates
Body mass index, comorbidities (such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or sleep apnea), medical history, current medications, contraindications (including a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN-2 syndrome), and your goals.
The decision is the clinician's medical judgment, not an algorithm. Eligibility is individual — not a checkbox and not a guarantee.
If treatment is clinically appropriate
The clinician discusses medication options, dosing, side-effect management, and monitoring. If a prescription is written, it is sent to a US-licensed pharmacy in the clinician's network. Tracking and refills are coordinated through your BridgeWell dashboard.
BridgeWell's nutrition, coaching, and movement support runs in parallel — the layer that turns a medication decision into long-term outcomes.
If treatment isn't appropriate
You receive a clear explanation of the clinician's decision and a plan for next steps. BridgeWell's nutrition, coaching, and movement support is designed to work with or without medication — eligibility for GLP-1 therapy is one of several paths, not the only one.
Virtual care, real medicine
Telehealth in California is regulated by state law and recognised as a valid modality for many medical evaluations. The clinician reviewing your case is individually responsible for the prescribing decision and is licensed to practice in California.
BridgeWell coordinates the experience around the clinical decision but does not influence it. The medical judgment is independent.
